Tinos Yacht Charter Guide

Tinos is a strong northern Cyclades stop for clients who want villages, food, pilgrimage history, and a more local island than nearby Mykonos. We like it when the route is planned around Mykonos, Andros, Syros, or Kea rather than forced deep south in one week.

The island is rewarding, but it is also exposed in the same broad Cyclades weather system. We recommend treating Tinos as part of a flexible northern Cyclades plan, especially in the main summer meltemi period.

Best For

  • Northern Cyclades yacht charters.
  • Clients who want villages, food, and culture near Mykonos.
  • Pairing with Mykonos, Andros, Syros, and Kea.
  • Groups who want a less obvious Cyclades stop.
  • Flexible motor yacht or catamaran routes with realistic distances.

What to See and Do

  • Panagia Megalochari: the major pilgrimage church and the island’s best-known landmark.
  • Pyrgos: one of the most beautiful villages on Tinos, known for marble craft.
  • Volax: an unusual inland village surrounded by rounded granite boulders.
  • Tarambados dovecotes: a distinctive Tinos landscape detail.
  • Agios Fokas: a practical beach area close to town.

Tinos Anchorage

Tinos is a northern Cyclades stop where the forecast matters. The captain will choose the practical harbor or bay option based on wind, swell, and the route toward Mykonos, Andros, or Syros. We like Tinos, but we would not build a rigid itinerary around it in peak meltemi conditions.

A Short History of Tinos

Tinos is one of Greece’s most important pilgrimage islands, largely because of Panagia Megalochari. It also has a strong marble-carving tradition, especially around Pyrgos, which gives the island a cultural depth that many clients do not expect so close to Mykonos.
