What €40,000/Week Gets You in Greece

Under €40,000 a week buys a modern 65 to 70 foot catamaran for 8 to 10 guests, or an 85 to 90 foot motor yacht from the late 2000s for 10 to 12, each with a crew of three to five. It is the busiest tier in Greece, and the one where the same money buys the most different weeks.

Read this before the listings below: the “from” rate is the low-season rate. Most of these yachts add 25 to 40 percent for July and August, then APA for fuel, food and marina fees (20 to 30 percent of the charter fee on the yachts here) and VAT on top. A catamaran listed at €34,000 is closer to €47,000 in August before expenses. If your dates are fixed on peak summer, budget from the high-season figure, not the headline.

DOLLY, Fountaine Pajot 67 sailing catamaran, 2023. From €33,500, €43,500 in July and August. Ten guests in a master and four queen cabins, all en suite, with a foredeck jacuzzi. Based in the Ionian rather than Athens, so a Lefkada or Kefalonia week starts without a crossing. Seven recorded bookings with us.

VALIUM 67, Lagoon Sixty 7 power catamaran, 2023. From €34,000, €47,000 in July and August. Ten guests in four doubles and a twin that converts. Tied for the most-booked yacht in our Greek records at 13 bookings, and the reason is simple: motor-yacht speed between islands with catamaran deck space, from Athens.

AETHER, Fountaine Pajot Alegria 67 sailing catamaran, 2018. From €31,000, €42,000 in July and August. Eight guests in an owner’s suite and three queen cabins, plus a deck jacuzzi. Seven bookings with us, and the sailing catamaran we recommend first in this bracket, mainly for a crew that has been together for years. Departs Lavrion, 40 minutes from the airport.

RED ROSE, Aicon 85 motor yacht, 2010. From €35,000, €44,000 in July and August. Ten guests in a master, a VIP and two twins with an extra bunk in each, stabilized at anchor and underway. This is what the same money buys on a monohull: more crew, a flybridge, and stabilizers for August wind. Athens.

FUNSEA, Aicon 90 motor yacht, 2010. From €39,900, €46,500 in July and August. The largest group in this band: up to 12 guests, with a full-beam master that splits into two cabins for the five-cabin version. Four crew and stabilizers. Agree the cabin version before you book, since it is fixed at contract. Departs Lavrio.

What the next €20,000 buys

Moving to the under €60k page does not buy more guests. It buys a bigger, newer boat: Sunreef 80 and Lagoon 78 catamarans, a 2024 Sanlorenzo, 100 foot motor yachts with six cabins. If your group is eight to ten and you want the newest yacht at this price, the catamarans above are where the value is. If you want a motor yacht built after 2015, that is a €60,000 decision.

Not every yacht at this tier has a jacuzzi, so check the boat rather than assuming the price guarantees one.
