Lefkada, Meganisi, Ithaca, and Kefalonia sit 1 to 3 hours apart, so you anchor by lunch, swim all afternoon, and have a quiet bay mostly to yourselves by evening. Nobody remembers the miles they covered. They remember the bay they had alone.
The Saronic Gulf is the practical alternative: a short transfer from Athens airport, even shorter hops, and an evening in car-free Hydra, one of the most romantic stops in the country. We recommend it for couples with 5 or 6 nights rather than a full week.

The sweet spot is a crewed catamaran of 60 to 70 feet with 4 or 5 cabins. You live in the master cabin, the crew stays in separate quarters, and everything else is yours: the foredeck loungers, the flybridge, the dining table that seats 8 but hosts 2.
There is a practical reason we steer couples away from going too small. On a compact yacht you feel the crew’s presence all day, and privacy is exactly what you are paying for. A bigger platform lets you and the crew stay out of each other’s way, and it rides more comfortably at anchor.
