Luxury Yacht Charter Greece
A luxury yacht charter Greece equals ultimate freedom. A fully crewed private superyacht isn’t just the most luxurious way to explore the Greek Islands—it’s also the most flexible. With a longer, faster yacht, you’re no longer limited by distance. The 140-nautical-mile run from Athens to Santorini—nearly impossible on a one-week catamaran charter—becomes totally doable. And with stabilizers, the infamous Meltemi winds of summer won’t knock you out of your lounge chair.
Expect all the onboard luxuries: massive sundecks, open-air jacuzzis, fully stocked bars, dedicated spa rooms, cinemas, and even private gyms. You will have your personal chef who already knows your tastes, serving up one five-star meal after the other. Your yacht is a floating luxury hotel where you and your family and friends are the only guests.
We recommend starting your charter in Athens—easy to reach and perfectly placed to explore the Saronic Gulf and Cyclades. But if you’re after something greener, quieter, and milder in weather, we’d love to send you to the Ionian Sea—one of our personal favorite yacht charter spots.

Where to Go on Your Greek Luxury Yacht Charter?
The most popular yacht charter destination in Greece is no doubt the Cyclades—home to iconic islands like Mykonos and Santorini. But while these islands remain at the top of many bucket lists, they are not necessarily the number one place to go. We want to share some great insights into each charter area in Greece and why they might be the best place for your Greek luxury charter vacation.
Cyclades – Most Popular and Hardest to Get to
If it is your dream to go to Santorini, we will help you make an itinerary around this. You will most likely start in Athens and island hop your way out there – it is the Cyclades island that is farthest from Athens, and right in the Meltemi winds path, so you need the right yacht.
For this route we recommend a larger motor yacht with good speeds and fuel efficiency. -note newer yachts have significantly more efficient engines and will save you lots of money after a long run like this.
Other amazing islands in the Cyclades include Milos and Polyaigos – the captains’ clear favorite when we interviewed them at the Naflion and Poros Yacht Shows. And, of course, you got Mykonos, the party island, which is just as crowded as Santorini, but for a good reason.

Saronic Gulf – Shorter Distances and Authentic Islands
If you’d rather avoid long crossings and the worst crowds, the Saronic Gulf is a much easier cruising ground, sitting right on Athens’ doorstep. The islands here are closer together, making it easy to move around, especially when the wind picks up. Poros, Hydra, and Spetses are our top picks for this route—beautiful, historic, and easy to navigate.

Ionian Sea – Lush Landscape and Calmer Conditions
But our personal favorite? The Ionian Islands. Why? Greener landscapes, Venetian architecture, quieter anchorages, and calmer weather. It’s a stress-free charter, where you can actually stick to your itinerary without the wind messing things up. The coastlines are stunning—tall white cliffs, perfect beaches, sea caves, and colorful villages. And if you’re on a large luxury yacht, you can stay remote longer without worrying about restocking.
One epic way to start an Ionian charter is by cruising through the Corinth Canal—the narrowest shipping canal in the world. It’s spectacular, with towering cliffs on either side so close you can almost touch the rock as you pass through. Trust us, it’s unforgettable.

What Water Toys Can You Have on Your Luxury Yacht?
Water toys have become an essential part of the luxury yacht experience, and the selection keeps growing as charter guests look to try a bit of everything. These days, even the most modest yacht garage tends to include seabobs, wakeboards, paddleboards, and a generous supply of inflatables. But if you’re after a truly action-packed charter, larger motor yachts are where the real fun begins.
On these yachts, you’ll often find jet skis, eFoils, inflatable water slides, and sometimes even flyboards, with trained crew members ready to show you the ropes.
If water toys are high on your priority list, we know exactly which yachts come with the best selections. It’s worth planning ahead, as the right yacht can turn your time on the water into an unforgettable playground.
Jet Skis on Luxury Yacht Charters
Greek luxury yachts with jet skis can take your yacht vacation to the next level, letting you break away from the main yacht and explore on your own terms. If jet skis are on your must-have list, it’s worth knowing they’re rarely found on catamarans—motor yachts are your best bet for a charter that includes them without extra hassle.
If you’ve never ridden one before, don’t stress. Most people pick it up quickly, and by the end of the trip, you’ll be carving through the water like a pro. Just keep in mind that yacht charters in Greece usually require a license to operate jet skis. It’s not as complicated as it sounds, and we can help you get the right paperwork sorted well ahead of your trip. If jet skis are part of your ideal charter experience, it’s definitely worth planning around them from the start.
Greek Luxury Yacht Amenities to Look Forward to
Luxury yachts are more than just stunning vessels—they’re floating retreats packed with top-tier amenities. From jacuzzis and private spa rooms to full gyms, outdoor cinemas, and game rooms, the onboard experience rivals any five-star resort.

Jacuzzis and Wellness on Luxury Yacht Charters Greece
Wellness on a luxury yacht isn’t just a nice extra—it’s practically standard these days. Almost every yacht comes with a jacuzzi, but step up to a larger vessel, and you’ll find plunge pools, dedicated spa rooms, and onboard massage therapists ready to work out any tension. Some yachts even have saunas, though they’re rarer. Fitness setups are just as impressive, ranging from a few handpicked machines on deck to full indoor gyms, sometimes with personal trainers to keep you on top of your game while you sail.
Onboard Entertainment on Luxury Yacht Charters Greece
When it comes to entertainment, the sky’s the limit. Private cinema rooms are common, but the real magic happens outside—watching a movie under the stars, cocktail in hand, with nothing but open sea around you. For game lovers, some yachts take things to another level. Freedom, for example, has a HAPPY MEpoker table for 12, while Happy Me features an entire arcade on deck, with a gimbaled pool table, foosball, and pinball machine.
And then there are the sundecks—often with full bars and dance floors. Whether you want a relaxed evening with soft music or a full-on party with a DJ or live band, the right yacht can make it happen. Honestly, at this level, there’s almost nothing you can’t have onboard. It’s less about what’s possible and more about how far you want to go.

Best Time for a Luxury Yacht Charter Greece?
High season runs from June to August, but we recommend May to June or September to October for fewer crowds, cooler temperatures, and better availability. Summer can hit 30°C+, and the most popular marinas—like Alimos—get booked up fast.
If you’re after a prime yacht and itinerary, early booking is key—some yachts are reserved two summers in advance. Plus, off-season charters cost less, especially in high-demand spots like Santorini and the Cyclades.
Plan ahead, and you’ll get the best yacht, the best route, and the smoothest charter experience.
