Key anomaly first: ZANZIBA is a 40m modern gulet that behaves like a proper sailing yacht but lives like a small boutique hotel. Big wooden hull, real sail plan, and a full 2015 build – not a “classic” that’s older than most of your crew.
The real hook is the living space-to-guest ratio. Only 10 guests in 5 cabins on a 131ft platform means one thing: volume. Wide beam, broad teak decks, and a layout designed around large social zones rather than squeezing in extra beds. You get proper alfresco dining, big lounging areas and enough deck real estate that families, kids and friend groups aren’t stacked on top of each other.
Inside, Studio Indigo quietly flexes. The London design studio has given ZANZIBA a clean, contemporary interior: light woods, coherent detailing and a calm, residential feel rather than “random yacht décor generator.” It’s built for long, comfortable weeks onboard – full air‑conditioning, smart cabin layout (master, one double and three twins) and a design that doesn’t fight you when ten people are actually using the boat.
Water-level reality check: ZANZIBA runs a serious toy locker: Zar 53 tender with 115hp to move people and toys fast, canoes, paddleboard/waterboard hybrid, wakeboard, waterskis, ringos, inflatable trampoline, plus snorkeling and fishing gear. Translation: the boat isn’t just somewhere to sleep between restaurants – it’s your main event platform.
Why charter ZANZIBA instead of another 40m “gulet-ish” thing: you get a relatively recent 2015 build, space optimised for 10 guests, a credible design team on both exterior (David Wright Design) and interior (Studio Indigo), full AC, a strong toy setup and a crew sized to run real service, not just keep the lights on. If your brief is “big, warm, wood, sails, and actually comfortable for a multi‑generation group,” this is very much that boat.

Plus Expenses arrangement includes the boat and crew only (without tip).
All additional/variable expenses such as Gas and Food are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) - an additional deposit that is added on top of the charter price.
The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption).
For a sailboat like ZANZIBA, the expected APA is 15% to 30% of the charter price (€10,200 - €20,400), making the charter cost €78,200 to €88,400. Exact amount will be confirmed after inquiry.
You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled).
The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.
