Rhodes Yacht Charter Guide

Rhodes is one of the strongest Dodecanese yacht charter bases when clients want history, airport access, and a route that can reach Symi, Tilos, Nisyros, Kos, or the southern Dodecanese. We usually recommend Rhodes when the brief needs both easy logistics and a more substantial first or last island than a small overnight stop.

Rhodes is not just a pretty name on the itinerary. It is useful. The airport, marina options, Old Town, and distance to nearby islands make it a practical start or finish point, especially for one-way Dodecanese charters.

Best For

  • Dodecanese charters starting or ending with strong airport access
  • Routes combining Rhodes with Symi, Tilos, Nisyros, Kos, Kalymnos, or Astypalea
  • Clients who want real history ashore, not only beaches and swim stops
  • Motor yachts that can use Rhodes as a base for wider Dodecanese routing
  • One-way itineraries where the route needs a substantial southern anchor point

Highlights

  • Rhodes Old Town: One of our favorite reasons to include Rhodes. It gives guests a proper evening ashore with medieval walls, restaurants, and enough atmosphere to justify time off the yacht.
  • Lindos: A strong land excursion or scenic stop, with the Acropolis above the white village and a very different feel from Rhodes Town.
  • Mandraki Harbor: Useful for arrival, shore time, and the classic Rhodes waterfront experience.
  • Anthony Quinn Bay: A known swim-stop area when conditions and route timing fit.
  • Symi pairing: We often like Rhodes with Symi because the contrast is clear: Rhodes brings logistics and history, Symi brings color, smaller-harbor charm, and a more intimate island feeling.

Rhodes Anchorage

Rhodes is mainly a marina and harbor-planning island rather than a remote anchorage stop. The exact overnight plan depends on the yacht, berth availability, and weather, but Rhodes is usually strongest for boarding, disembarking, provisioning, and a well-planned evening ashore.
