What Kalafatis Means for Your Charter
Kalafatis is the other Mykonos — a long watersports beach on the southeast coast, about 12 kilometers from town, where the island is about wind, water, and space rather than nightlife. On charters it’s the natural daytime stop: the bay is sheltered from the Meltemi, the swimming is excellent, and if anyone in your group wants windsurfing or a proper beach afternoon, this is where the crew will point the bow.
There’s a reef on the approach, which is your captain’s business, not yours — guests just get a calm anchorage with tavernas ashore. We usually pair it with an Ornos or town overnight: Kalafatis for the day, back around the coast for the evening. Location

Once your chartered yacht gets to the bay, you will find a bight that offers protection from the Meltemi, and it is open completely to the S and E. You will find the bay immediately E of Ormos Ay Annas and Ak Tarsanas. Crewed yachts should be careful of a reef on the W side of the bight when approaching the bay. You can then anchor off your yacht or boat off the N side of the beach 3-4m off the hotel complex. There are cafes and tavernas that you can explore ashore.
