What Livadi Means for Your Charter

Livadi is the port of Serifos, sitting in a bay that’s well protected from the Meltemi — which alone makes it valuable in a western-Cyclades week, since a reliable overnight matters more than most guests expect. But the real draw is above it: the Chora of Serifos, a cascade of whitewashed houses down a rocky peak that’s genuinely one of the most beautiful hilltop towns in the Cyclades. Our usual pattern here: swim off Livadakia beach in the afternoon, then head up to the Chora for sunset and dinner in the small squares at the top. Serifos stays off most itineraries because it has no airport and no headline beach clubs — which is precisely why the clients who stop here rate it so highly.

Island overview

Livadi is a big and the only port of Serifos. Located in the southeastern part of the island in a bay protected from the wind, Meltemi, it has a good mooring pier for ships and facilities for yachts and tourists including a bank, post office, gas station, pharmacy, Port Police Station, travel agencies, shops and restaurants.

Navigation

Around the S Coast, there is a visible lighthouse, Ák Spathi, along with the fish farm on the E side of the cape. From the N and E sides rise the white houses of Chora. Mooring is possible in the bay or jetty off the village on the SE side of the bay. The S side of the jetty is better in the summer because of the wind, Meltemi. N side isn’t preferable because of the sandy, muddy and weedy bottom. Anchor outside the swimming spot. Because the bottom is sand and weed it could be difficult to anchor so the second anchor might be a good idea.

General information

Livadi port is the starting point for boats to beaches, buses to charming villages, mines and the historic castle of the Archangels, the White Tower. You can spot here cobbled streets and whitewashed houses of chora, one of the most beautiful choras in the Cyclades.

Beaches

Livadakia Beach

If you want to relax without walking for miles, head to the nearby Livadakia beach with sandy, stone-free entry to warm, shallow clean seawater. Thanks to the trees on the beach there is some shade. You can take a dive into crystal waters and admire whitewashed houses scattered around the island. It’s a perfect, not very crowded place for young adults and families with children.

Paralia Karavi beach

The beach is a bit further but still close to the harbor. Despite the hills surrounding this beautiful, quiet secluded beach, there is no shade so prepare yourself accordingly. Paralia has very coarse sand, and it’s a bit difficult to enter the water because of pebbles and a very slippery rock shelf in the shallow water.

Church Agios Isidoros

If sightseeing is your jam, you can visit Church Agios Isidoros on the hill which offers spectacular views of the marina.

Livadhi marina has a lot of bars and restaurants to offer. You’ll find here Epioúsion, a bakery with a variety of traditional bread, snacks, and sweets.

Restaurant Lepi Lepi seafood

Lepi Lepi is a restaurant where you can taste local, fresh shrimps, mules, and different fish for a good price, enjoying the view of the harbor.

Restaurant Kalis

One of the best restaurants in Livadhi serves fresh fish, traditional Serifos dishes with a gourmet touch and an excellent wine make a visit here a must-try.
