MARLA Yacht Description
Marla, previously named T.J. Esperanza, was built in 1999 by leading Dutch shipyard Amels and last refitted in 2015/2016.
The yacht was designed by Terence Disdale, who is responsible for her stunning exterior and interior. Her sleek and beautiful lines, gorgeous furnishings as well as her impressive leisure and entertainment facilities, make her the ideal charter yacht for socializing and entertaining with family and friends.
Her exceptional Captain Manolis, leads the highly experienced and professional crew of 12.
Marla' sleeps up to 12 guests in 6 rooms, including a master suite, 2 double cabins and 2 twin cabins and 1 pullman bed, ensuring a relaxed luxury yachting experience.
Made of steel and aluminum, she can achieve a top speed of 15.4 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots.
Please note that she has zero speed stabilizers.

Advertised by DMA Yachting, the impressive charter yacht MARLA is a 164 ft motor yacht featuring a jetski and a hot tub. MARLA spends the summer and winter season in Greece. She was delivered by the well-known ship builder Amels in 1999. An elegant refit was completed in 2012. The well-planned yacht layout features 6 cozy cabins and comfortably accommodates a group of 12 guests.
MARLA is classified as a superyacht. The key pary of the boat - the aft deck, elegantly connects to the meticulously composed main saloon. The main saloon is a well-design space to spend time when the weather is not ideal and serves as a location of entertainment. 6 comfortable cabins are laid out for maximum privacy and comfort.
The motor yacht features 2 x 1,200hp Cummins 12-cylinder turbo-charged diesel engines 2 x 150 KW Caterpillar C9 generators engines .

Captain Manolis holds a Captain Class A’ Diploma. He began his career as Officer and later as Captain on container vessels, where he gained extensive sea-experience of world cruising areas. After years in containers vessels, he got involved in the yachting industry. Prior to joining MARLA, he Captained M/Y PARIS (Amels 50m), M/Y TUEQ (Van de Giessen 80m), M/Y IERTAL (Admiral 26m) and M/Y APPLAUSE (Oceanco 51m). Captain Manolis is known for his high level of expertise and professionalism in the luxury yacht industry. Capt. Manolis has more than 20 years of experience at sea – the last 12 years as a Captain. With an extensive knowledge of the Greek Waters, Captain Manolis knows all the secluded bays where guests can enjoy the dramatic surroundings or can find the perfectly calm waters and the safest exclusive anchorages. Captain Manolis holds ARPA / RADAR, Medical Care Certificate, Tanker safety certificate, Ro/Ro Passenger certificate, Life Saving & Fire Fighting, ISPS Certificate (International Ship & Port Security), ISM Internal Auditor Certificate by Lloyd’s, Scuba diving license. He speaks fluent English and enjoys skiing, water sports, scuba diving, surfing and kite surfing. He is 43 years old and married.
Chief Officer – Konstantinos Antonoulis

Konstantinos holds a CoC as Class B Captain and a Post Graduate Diploma in Shipping Management. Konstantinos was onboard container vessels and tug boats until 2011 when he joined the yachting industry as Chief Officer on board M/Y O’rama. Konstantinos has served as Chief Officer onboard M/Y BLUE BELLE, BILMAR and AL MIRQAB. He has been on board MARLA since 2019. He holds the Radio General Operator (GMDSS), Ro/Ro & Passenger Ship Safety, Life Saving & Fire Fighting, STCW ’78 Certificates, ISM Code Internal Audit Certificate, Ship Security Officer Certificate and PADI diver’s license and RYA powerboat license. . His love for the sea and for all water related activities enable him to offer an array of activities with his very competent water sports orientated crew member. Konstantinos enjoys sailing and travelling and he would be more than happy to answer all questions related to safety and bridge on board MARLA. John speaks excellent English. He is 34 years old and he is married.
Chief Engineer – Konstantinos Papadopoulos

Konstantinos is a graduate of the Greek Merchant Marine Academy and holds an Engineer Class A’ Diploma. He has sailed around the Aegean and Adriatic Sea on passenger ships since 1993. Moving into the mega yacht industry has provided Konstantinos with the opportunity of sharing his proud, fond experience of engineering and looking after the safety of the yacht and all aboard. He started his career on yachts on board M/Y SEAWOLF SEA and has served as 1st engineer on board M/Y ENDLESS SUMMER, SAPPHIRE, PANTHER 2, AMICI PER SEMPRE and NALANI. Konstantinos holds the following Certificates and Licenses: Ro/Ro & Passenger Ship Safety, Life Saving & Fire Fighting, ISPS Certificate (International Ship & Port Security), scuba diving license. He joins us to compliment this department and to ensure that Marla runs at her full potential at all times. He speaks fluent English. Konstantinos is 43 years old and married with two children. Konstantinos loves to spend his free time with his family.
2nd Engineer – John Papafaklis

John is a graduate of the Greek Marine Engineering Academy of Aspropyrgos and holds an Engineer Class C’ Diploma. His career on board tanker ships lasted a lengthy period of 10 years until he discovered yachting and decided to switch to the luxury marine industry on board MARLA. He also holds Certificates in Ro/Ro & Passenger Ship Safety, Life Saving & Fire Fighting and Proficiency in Medical First Aid. John enjoys having charterers on board and working with the array of sports equipment. He speaks fluent English. John is 30 years old and he enjoys soccer, snowboarding and padel tennis.
Chef – George Kalavros

George graduated in 2004 from Le Monde Culinary School. He began his career at restaurants where he learnt and performed his trade and gained experience. He has served as chef on board M/Y ENDLESS SUMMER, RINI V and MONTE CARLO. George learnt a vast range of recipes and cooking skills and now specializes in Greek, Italian and French cuisine. George has a wide range of gastronomic knowledge and menu specialties coupled with a strong combination of restaurant operations management and leadership skills, promising to offer an unforgettable tasting experience to all the guests. George is a key personality on board MARLA and the boat is now characterized by the high level of gastronomy. George speaks fluent English. He is 38 years old and married with one child.
Chief Steward – John Tezas

John is a graduate of Le Monde at Hotel Management. He began his career in 2007 as Steward on private and charter yachts throughout the Mediterranean Sea. He has served as assistant steward on board M/Y PRINCE ABDULAZIZ (147m) and as chief steward on board M/Y S CAPE (57m) and M/Y AL DIRIYAH (86m). He joined the crew of MARLA in winter of 2017 and became familiarized with the yacht. John is extremely good at providing exceptional services. He is a certified barista, bartender and sommelier. He also holds all relevant marine Certificates (HACCP diploma, life-saving and fire-fighting, SSH, Ro-Ro passenger). His hospitality and communicative skills are second to none and he prides himself on maintaining the highest levels of service at all times. John looks forward to receiving guests on board MARLA and strives to provide the best service possible. He speaks English and Greek. John is 34 years old and married. He enjoys sports, football, travelling and swimming.
Stewardess – Oleksandra Barantseva

Oleksandra has a Law Degree from Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University and she holds Safety and Training certificates. Oleksandra entered the yachting industry in 2020 on board “AL SALAMAH” as a leading stewardess. She has also extensive experience working as a consultant and salesperson in VIP-class clothing stores. She is extremely hardworking sociable, stress-resistant, attentive and polite, while she is able to establish trusting relationships. She is 26 years old and single. She speaks English, Russian and Ukranian. Oleksandra is also a Master FIDE of chess.
Stewardess –Liudmyla Melnyk

Liudmyla is a graduate of School of Maritime Tourism Service and she has extensive experience in leading service with VIP guests. She has worked on board MY ALEXANDR as a stewardess and as well as on board cruise ship, while her professional background also includes working as a Travel Agent. Liudmyla is pleasant, hard-working, responsible, punctual and sociable. Her hobbies include fitness, reading and traveling. She is 20 years old and single.
Assistant Steward – Konstantinos Xanthopoulos

Konstantinos’ extensive background in the hospitality industry in accordance with his studies/seminars in hotel services and tourism turned him to focus on the yachting industry. Konstantinos began his career working in hotels and restaurants when in 2017 he entered the yachting industry on board M/Y BLUE EYES. Konstantinos’ charming character makes guests feel at home and he will do his best to offer them wonderful services. Konstantinos speaks fluent English and basic German. He is 26 years old and single.
Bosun– Nikos Boudouris

Nikos started working on yachts at a young age and discovered yachting through his father who had many distinctions in international sailing competitions, including first world championship and third place in Olympic Games in 1980. Since then he has worked as sailor on board M/Y PROTON, OURANOS TOO and BELLA STELLA. He is a hard worker and his love for the sea and yachts proved him to be a valuable member of MARLA’s permanent crew. He holds a Ship Security Officer Certificate, Life Saving and Fire Fighting Certificate, Ro-Ro passenger and speed boat licence. Nikos speaks fluent English. He is 27 years old and he enjoys water sports and sailing.
Deckhand – Konstantinos Kazouris

Konstantinos is an X-ray technician. He started working on private yachts on 2016. Since then he decided that he wanted to continue in the industry and moved on to luxury yachts. He is a hard worker and his love for the sea and yachts proved him to be a valuable member of MARLA’s permanent crew. He holds a Life Saving and Fire Fighting Certificate, Ro-Ro for security passenger and speed boat licence. Konstantinos speaks fluent English. He is 33 years old and single.
