BABALU 51 Yacht Description

  • RIB Tender 13ft with 40hp outboard:
Fast, reliable RIB tender to explore islands and enjoy water adventures with up to 8 guests.
  • Wide range of water toys for all ages:
Includes wakeboard, adult & kids water skis, 2 SUPs, snorkel gear, and inflatable sofa for 2.
  • Full air conditioning and watermaker:
Keeps guests comfortable and self-sufficient, perfect for luxurious, relaxed stays around Greece.

This is a 2024 Lagoon 51 catamaran wired for one thing: using the massive deck space properly. Wide, stable platform, big social areas, zero “where do we all sit” problem. Four double cabins sleep up to 8 guests, all with en-suite facilities, so nobody is testing their patience in a queue with a towel on.

The real hook is the crew-and-food combo. You get an Ocean-certified skipper who’s also a PADI Divemaster and lifelong watersports guy, plus a professionally trained cook/pastry chef running a menu that reads more like a boutique restaurant playbook than “boat food”: Greek classics, seafood, serious breakfasts, and desserts from baklava to tiramisu. This is the yacht for people who care as much about the plate and the plan as the view.

Hardware is built for play, not just transit. A 13ft RIB with 40hp outboard, wakeboard, adult and kids water skis, towable sofa, SUPs, snorkeling and fishing gear turn every anchorage into a low-friction watersports station. Full air-conditioning, generator, watermaker and onboard Wi‑Fi keep the comfort level realistically high, not “camping with sails.”

Net result: new-build Lagoon stability and volume, hotel-style cabins, a three-person pro crew, and a serious gastro-forward galley. If your idea of a successful charter is “everyone is busy, fed too well, and nobody is fighting over a bathroom,” this one is engineered for you.

Price Terms

Plus Expenses - add APA to the price you see

Plus Expenses arrangement includes the boat and crew only (without tip).

All additional/variable expenses such as Gas and Food are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) - an additional deposit that is added on top of the charter price.

The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption).

For a sailing catamaran like BABALU 51, the expected APA is 20% to 35% of the charter price (€3,400 - €5,950), making the charter cost €20,400 to €22,950. Exact amount will be confirmed after inquiry.

You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled).

The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.

Captain: Lefteris Fanioudakis

Lefteris runs BABALU like a man who has chosen sea over land, stacking serious qualifications with real miles so your island-hopping feels tight, safe, and wide open at the same time. He hunts out the clean anchorages and the quiet routes, then holds the boat steady while you push the day as hard as you want.

  • Born 1989, Crete, Greece
  • MCA/RYA Yachtmaster Ocean for power and sailing vessels
  • PADI Divemaster and certified for Captain’s Medical Care
  • Background as windsurf instructor and skipper on sailing yachts, catamarans, and motor yachts in Greece

Christos treats BABALU’s galley like a precision kitchen, dropping plates that feel sharp, modern, and exact while still landing honest Greek comfort after a hard swim or a long run under sail. He builds menus like a route plan—balanced, seasonal, and tuned to how you actually live on board, not how a brochure looks.

  • Head Cook on a P2 catamaran in Greece, 2024 season
  • Former Head Cook for Variety Cruises in French Polynesia (March–June 2023)
  • Extensive pastry background at Kiku Kolonaki, Freud Oriental Athens, and Giacomo Restaurant Kifisia
  • Specialized culinary and pastry training at Le Monde, Athens (including traditional island sweets, pizza, and barista skills)

Sofia keeps the inside of BABALU running quiet and precise, reading the mood fast and shifting from low‑profile service to switched‑on energy so the boat feels easy, calm, and tuned to you, not scripted. She builds that soft background order that lets you forget the logistics and stay locked on the trip.

Thank you for everything! I couldn’t imagine spending this week in any other way with anyone else. Each day was filled with great views, tasty food, and lots of fun! If I ever come back (which I hope to do), I wish for it to be with these same 3. I will need to have a rematch with stewardess as she is surprisingly good at cards!

Thank you guys so much for an amazing week! Without y’all this week would have been nowhere near as much fun. Every new island was an awesome adventure, the food was always amazing, and everything else I needed was provided, from a new drink to a clean room. You guys are awesome and I hope the next groups are as fun as us for you.

GUEST COMMENTS 2024 HIGHLIGHTS

Thank you to all crew,
we had the best and most relaxing week on the Babalu. We loved seeing beautiful, secluded beaches across the Cyclades. It was a week of smooth sailing. We ate like Queens and Kings and loved all of Cooks creative Greek meals – our favorite was brownies and pastitsio! Hostess always took great care of us with coffee, drinks and pillows We appreciated you checking in on us so frequently and watching out for us on the paddleboards. This was a magical week for our family, and we are so grateful for the experience! Hope to return next year!
