If you want a slice of paradise, it’s high time you visit Delfini! Its pebbled beaches and warm waters offer a well-hidden beach that ticks all the right boxes. The Meltemi winds are here to ensure that you do not get too hot. Delfini is ideal for those who want a quiet beach. This bay is overlooked by beautiful white taverns, summer villas, and rooms for rent. Tired of swimming? Take a short trip to any one of the taverns overlooking the sea and meet a few people. This beach is child-friendly. Anchor your boats and have a nice warm swim in summer at Delfini.
Navigation
Delfini is under less than 4m of water to the west, so you should drop your anchor away to avoid running aground. This anchorage also has a working jetty where you can tie up. And if you decide to sit on the water, you can also anchor a few meters behind the islet. Arriving in the dark? Watch out for the islet in the middle of the bay. There are no lights or signs, but it should be easy to spot on the northern side of the bay. Located about 11 km from Ermoupoli and north of Syros, This bay is a short 30 minutes’ walk from Kini. There is a car pack if you do decide to drive. Though the road is a dirt path, it is well worth it for the experience of Ormos Delfino!
General information
Delfini is well tucked away by nature, the true definition of hidden in plain sight. This bay with its golden sands and clear waters is not only excellent for its food, swimming, music, and pictures, it is the perfect place for water sports. This bay can be accessed by car, foot, or boat. Vacationing in Syros or neighboring islands? Most definitely add this beach to your bucket list! Take a hat and backpack and explore the hidden hills and beautiful topography. This bay does not lack trails off the beaten path. If you do get tired after a long day’s walk, take a dip in the water.
History of Ormos Delfino
With its strategic and hidden bay, pirate boats must have docked here in ancient times. The barbarian raids terrorized the Aegean and caused significant economic decline to Syros. Even with this cloudy history, the beaches remain beautiful and pristine.
