Location

The village of Batsi is one of the top destinations in Andros and a great place for yacht charters in the Cyclades. It is located near the primary port of Gavrio on the northwestern part of the island and is relatively sheltered from the northern winds. The small bay has one of the warmest beaches on the island that attracts visitors from all around. Across the port, you can spot the small islets of Megalo, Prasso, Akamatis and others. From the beach, you can grab a bus to Chora, or Gavrio where there are more options for dining and shopping.

Navigation

Good anchorage with a depth of 5-6m and adequate room to lay the anchor. The entrance can be challenging during windy days. An affordable option for water and electricity considering other Greek charter ports in the most well known and popular islands. The bottom is sand and weed. You can go bow or stern to the quay where there is a room available. Another option is to anchor off in the N or W side of the bay. Ferries don’t use this port so there is little disturbance but small disturbances can be noticeable. The water in the bay is perfect for swimming. A new breakwater extension has also been added which offers additional shelter from the Meltemi but is still somewhat exposed on the S side.

Provisioning

The area has all the necessary facilities and plenty of shops and tavernas during the Greek summer season. After October, options might be limited in terms of dining out. Supermarkets and an ATM are available nearby.

You will find small yachts and deck boats around the bay.

Capacity and Technical Data

One of the liveliest and busiest spots on the island during the summer months. The charming coastal village of Batsi has the most options for hotels, resorts and cocktails overlooking the Aegean Sea. Due to its popularity, it can be quite a noisy place to be in during Friday nights and weekends.

Here is a video showing the facilities and areas that yacht charters can enjoy at Batsi.
