Most recently, he has worked as a professional diver (2023–2025), completing visual hull inspections, underwater repairs, and marina mooring restorations—demonstrating composure, physical capability, and strong safety discipline in demanding conditions. >> Charter Broker Louis Lamprell: This is a brand new catamaran this year. It's her first year in charter. It's a fantastic mix of a luxury experience and performance. They are sensational yachts. We are on board Fountaine Pajot 80 sailing catamaran Ad Astra. She's a brand new yacht, absolutely brand new. I think she did about half a season last year, so this will be her first full season, which is a really ideal amount actually, because she's been a little bit bedded in, a few of the little irons wrinkled out. But this is an exceptional catamaran. Let's have a little look.

Sunreef catamarans were sort of leading the way in terms of luxury. And Fountaine Pajot have always been a sort of balance of performance and luxury, but they've really gone all out on the more comfort side of the design in this yacht. And as you can see, it's exceptionally spacious. Very few people really care about who's building the yacht, and I understand that, but something that we do as brokers is we have a very keen interest in where these yachts are being built, who's building them, and what their focus is on when they're building them. Sunreef catamarans are probably famous for the luxury fittings that they do. If you look at Lagoons, they're probably better known for their performance. I'd say what Fountaine Pajot do really beautifully is a mix of the two elements. So they are traditionally a performance catamaran company, but as the years have gone by, they've started to add a lot more luxury elements, a lot more comfort.

>> Charter Broker Louis Lamprell: The nice thing about Fountaine Pajot is they're perfect for most clients because if you want luxury and you want comfort, they can offer that. If you want performance and you want a proper sailing experience, they're going to offer that a lot more than the Sunreef catamarans, for example, which the Sunreefs are really a lot more built for luxury. But these offer performance as well, so they have a little bit more of a lower profile than the Sunreefs. And I know that it's not that important to all our clients, but it's important to us because we want to make sure that you're on a well-built yacht and a yacht that's going to perform well and a yacht that you're going to enjoy being on.

It folds right down and they'll put some posts in here for you and it becomes a little private deck. And they'll set up a little table and little chairs and you can sit here on the lounge and maybe you want to have, maybe you'll have the sun on your side, you want to be in the sun, or maybe it's on the other side and you want to be in the shade, but you've got this perfect little lounge area and a great little deck and you can enjoy a different view, different perspective of the yacht, which is very unique. But something that's important to us when you get in touch and I hear about your plans is that I know what these yachts are about and then I'm going to recommend to you the boat that I think suits what you need. And a lot of the times it's going to be a Fountaine Pajot 80 because they tick a lot of the boxes: a lot of luxury, comfort, size, and speed.
