Luxury yacht charters are about having the ultimate time on the water, a time when even adults can play. There are so many great water toys out there, offering everything from chill to thrill.

But we’re not here to talk about paddleboards and floating loungers—we’re here to talk about the water toys that get us pumping!

5. E-foil: a water toy that gives you the feeling of flying

Imagine flying above the water on an electric hydrofoil that hits speeds up to 45 kph. The Waydoo Flyer One Plus is currently the number 1 e-foil on the market. It is ultra-light and emissions-free, offering a futuristic ride over the seas.

E-foils are possible to have on any type of yacht charter, whether sailing yachts, catamarans, or larger motor yachts, as they are easily stored.

Efoil
Efoil

What is the difference between an E-foil, a Hydrofoils, and a Jet Board?

An E-foil is an electric surfboard that uses a hydrofoil (a wing-like structure under the water) to lift itself above the surface, giving the sensation of flying over the water.

Unlike traditional hydrofoils, which rely on wind or towing for propulsion, E-foils incorporate an electric motor controlled by a wireless remote, allowing for smooth, self-powered movement.

In contrast, jet boards are motorized but remain on the water’s surface, lacking the hydrofoil component that characterizes E-Foils. The E-foil is the epitome of all! – Highest speeds, smoothest ride, electric propulsion.

How long does it take to learn the E-foil?

Though it might look difficult, many can start flying over the water after just a few attempts. With a one-hour lesson, most are able to handle basic maneuvers.

It is definitely an advantage if you have previously done other board-based sports, such as surfing or snowboarding, but even if you haven’t, you will get the hang of it!

3. Seabob: Everyone wants one and they are easy to store on any charter yacht

Other than Jet Skis, Seabobs is the water toy we get the most requests for.

Seabobs have been making waves in the luxury water sports market since their introduction by CAYAGO AG in 2007.

Their popularity on yacht charters has notably increased over the last decade, especially as they became known for their versatility, eco-friendly operation, and ease of use.

Why are Seabobs so popular?

Imagine a high-performance electric underwater scooter that lets you swim like a dolphin. Seabobs are small, powerful units that pull you through the water at speeds up to 15 km/h over the surface and 11 km/h underwater.

Is it easy to use a Seabob?

Seabobs are remarkably easy to handle. Most users get comfortable within minutes, as the intuitive control grips allow for effortless diving and maneuvering.

2. Jet Ski: The water toy that never goes out of style

A staple for any water toy collection, jet skis offer high-speed fun and are perfect for adrenaline junkies looking to zip across the water.

Jet skis are also great for exploring nearby coves or islets. Many larger charter vessels now store multiple jet skis, so couples and friends can go zooming off together.

Jet Skis and Regulations

Yacht charters with jet skis are easy to find in almost any yacht charter destination in the world. But be aware that depending on where you do your yacht charter, there might be different restrictions. For example, there are marine reserves in the Caribbean where jet skis are not allowed, as they can negatively impact turtles and other marine life.

It is important to consult with your charter broker to understand the specific laws in the place you plan to take your next yacht charter vacation.

1. Submersible: The no. 1 superyacht water toy for ultimate underwater exploration!

This is definitely the ultimate water toy for luxury yacht charters! The mini submersible is a game-changer for underwater exploration, letting you and a buddy dive up to 100 meters deep to check out marine life or sunken treasures. It’s sleek, compact, and perfect for personal underwater adventures.

Mini submersibles are popular among luxury yacht owners, marine researchers, and adventure tourists and are also making their way into luxury yacht charters.

Two mini submersibles engaged in an underwater exploration, vividly capturing the essence of advanced marine exploration. These submersibles, shown in a striking yellow, are equipped with large transparent domes, providing an unobstructed view of the underwater world. This setup is ideal for those looking to delve deep into marine environments, offering a unique vantage point to observe sea life and underwater landscapes that are otherwise inaccessible. The caption

What type of mini submersible can I have on a superyacht?

There are several types of submersibles used on superyachts, ranging from compact models suitable for two to three people to larger versions that can accommodate up to nine passengers.

For example, Triton Submarines offers models like the Triton 1650/3 LP, designed for three passengers and capable of diving to 500 meters, and the Triton 3300/6, which can take six passengers to 1,000 meters deep.

Integrating a submersible with a yacht involves careful planning regarding the storage, launch, and recovery systems. Yacht submersibles need to be lightweight and compact enough to be handled by the yacht’s crane system.

Used for the filming of Titanic

Mini submersibles played a crucial role in the filming of James Cameron’s 1997 film “Titanic.” Cameron used these small, maneuverable submarines to dive to the wreck of the Titanic, located about 2.5 miles underwater in the North Atlantic.

The submersibles allowed the film crew to capture detailed footage of the ship’s remains, providing audiences with a haunting glimpse of the sunken vessel.

Who can use a mini submersible?

Operating a submersible typically requires specialized training, although the basics can be mastered relatively quickly.

Many luxury yacht charter companies offer introductory sessions to ensure passengers can safely enjoy their underwater journey.

The training usually covers operating procedures, safety protocols, and emergency measures.

How deep can I go in a luxury mini submersible?

Most recreational dives with yacht-based submersibles are relatively shallow, diving to a maximum of a few hundred meters. However, submersibles used in exploration diving can go much deeper, with some models being certified to explore depths of thousands of meters.

On March 26, 2012, James Cameron broke the record for the deepest solo submersible dive. He piloted the Deeps Challenger to the bottom of the Mariana Trench – the deepest known point of the ocean. He reached a maximum depth of 10,908 meters (35,787 feet).
