Offered by DMA Yachting, the breathtaking charter yacht UHURU is a 57 ft sailing catamaran. UHURU spends the summer and winter season in Greece. She was constructed by the ship builder Van Peteghem-Lauriot Prevost in 1999. An elegant refit was delivered in 2014/2019. The expansive yacht layout features 3 cozy cabins and easily accommodates a maximum of 6 guests.

UHURU is classified primarily as a sailing catamaran. The central space of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck features a variety of seating areas and that's where most of the delicious meals are served. The fascinating cabins are connected by stairs to the main saloon - roomy, comfortable and pleasant. The cabins offer unbeatable views in the morning and are located just below deck. Multiple portholes supply a sunny feeling, with the option for darkness and privacy.

Plus Expenses - add APA to the price you see

Plus Expenses arrangement includes the boat and crew only (without tip).

All additional/variable expenses such as Gas and Food are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) - an additional deposit that is added on top of the charter price.

The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption).

For a sailing catamaran like UHURU, the expected APA is 20% to 35% of the charter price (€2,400 - €4,200), making the charter cost €14,400 to €16,200. Exact amount will be confirmed after inquiry.

You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled).

The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.

Crew Information

Captain: Renato Marchesan

The captain of Uhuru, Renato Marchesan, was born in Florence in 1953. Driven by a strong passion for the sea, at the age of 18 he moves to Punta Ala. Thanks to the precious friendship with the so called “il Cileno”, a local fisherman and life coach, he learns the ancient art of the sea. A few years later, he buys his first yacht and, since then, he begins an exciting charter activity, alternating it with underwater works, such as red coral fishing.

In addition to having lived in Egypt and Sudan, sailing in every corner of the Red Sea, Renato boasts a great competence aboard yachts up to 40 meters. In his book, "Prua al mare", Renato tells about his great experiences in the sea.
From 2013 Renato is completely involved in the management of Uhuru, taking care of the guests onboard and making sure they live a memorable and pleasant cruise.
Friendly and professional at the same time, Renato will be able to take you in total safety in the most hidden corners of Greece and Turkey.

Always with a great enthusiasm and desire to learn, Ferdi Guray is the deckhand onboard Uhuru. Ferdi takes very seriously every guests’ request. With 5 years of experience on yachts up to 30 meters, his professionalism will accompany you throughout the cruise.
