Core upload to your brain: TESS is a 78ft, all‑aluminium Martin Francis design that was built as a proper maxi‑style sailing yacht and then refit (latest works 2020–2024) so you get real performance sailing without going full “Spartan race on water.” She’s a flush‑deck, pure sail vessel – not a motor yacht pretending to like sails.
Why you’d pick TESS over another 80‑footer: layout. She sleeps up to 8 guests in 4 cabins with unusual flexibility for a yacht this size: a bright forward double with its own hidden bathtub and double bathroom setup, two twin cabins with lower + upper berths, plus an extra aft cabin with a French‑size double that’s ideal for kids or teens. In family mode, you can configure the beds to avoid nightly “who drew the short mattress” negotiations.
Deck life is the main feature, not the afterthought. The 2012 teak deck rebuild delivered a clean, flush, uncluttered deck you can actually move around on under sail. The cockpit is properly sized for real alfresco meals, not just staged photos, and the sailing hardware is organised so guests can relax while the crew does the work – or you can geek out on sail trim if that’s your thing.
Under the skin, it’s built to be used, not just displayed. Aluminium hull and superstructure for strength and stability, MTU 260hp main engine, watermaker and systems overhauled, full air‑conditioning and Wi‑Fi on board. She cruises comfortably at 9 knots, either under power or doing what she was actually built for: sailing.
Who TESS is really for: clients who want an authentic sailing experience with a capable, professional Italian crew of three, decent comfort, and a smart cabin setup for families or mixed groups – but who still want a yacht that actually heels, accelerates and feels alive, not a floating apartment with a mast attached for decoration.
Accommodation
In case of family groups, 8 beds are available. Charterers must be aware that Tess is a pure sailing vesselForward double bedded cabin with bathroom ensuite, 2 twin cabins each with lower and upper beds and own bathroom.
It is possible to have also a 4th cabin, situated in the rear part of the vessel, close to the crew's area: it is a single cabin, but with a comfortable bed (double French size) wich could accommodate 2 young's (with own bathroom).
Very bright and well refurbished saloon, separated galley. Crew's quarter with indipendent access from cockpit
Flush deck, spacious teck deck completely rebuilt in 2012

Price Terms
Plus Expenses - add APA to the price you see
Plus Expenses arrangement includes the boat and crew only (without tip).
All additional/variable expenses such as Gas and Food are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) - an additional deposit that is added on top of the charter price.
The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption).
For a sailboat like TESS, the expected APA is 15% to 30% of the charter price (€3,600 - €7,200), making the charter cost €27,600 to €31,200. Exact amount will be confirmed after inquiry.
You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled).
The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.
