PURITAN is what happens when a museum piece refuses to stay in a museum. A 1931 John G. Alden gaff‑rigged schooner, rebuilt and refit through 2023, she gives you the full “golden age” classic-yacht experience without giving up air conditioning, Wi‑Fi, or hot showers. If you want a yacht that actually turns heads (from sailors, not just Instagram), this is that yacht.
The core deal: up to 8 guests, 4 cabins, 7 crew. That’s a serious guest‑to‑crew ratio on a 126ft steel-hulled classic, which translates into quiet, competent service while you pretend you’ve just stepped out of a 1930s yachting magazine.
Inside, it’s 1930s on purpose, not by accident. Traditional period interior, original Oregon pine furniture, and a lifting skylight in the main salon that turns the heart of the boat into a lightwell. It feels like a historic private yacht because it is one – just with the boring bits (systems, machinery, comfort) quietly upgraded under the skin.
Outside, it’s all about sail and space. Big, open decks for proper schooner sailing, long lunches, and the obligatory “I swear I’m not checking email” sunbathing. When the sails are down, you still have a full modern playbook: wakeboard, adult water skis, inflatables, donut, paddleboards and a 5m tender to shuttle you between “civilization” and “we’re off the grid now.”
Who is PURITAN really for? People who’ve done the white‑gelcoat, big‑engine thing and now want something with actual character. Classic yachting enthusiasts, design nerds, sailors, and anyone who thinks a refit 1931 schooner on a steel hull with modern toys is more interesting than another floating condo. If that’s you, PURITAN is the right kind of problem.

Price Terms
Plus Expenses - add APA to the price you see
Plus Expenses arrangement includes the boat and crew only (without tip).
All additional/variable expenses such as Gas and Food are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) - an additional deposit that is added on top of the charter price.
The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption).
For a sailboat like PURITAN, the expected APA is 15% to 30% of the charter price (€8,625 - €17,250), making the charter cost €66,125 to €74,750. Exact amount will be confirmed after inquiry.
You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled).
The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.

- Extensive Atlantic and Mediterranean experience: Greece, Caribbean, France, Croatia, Spain, Italy
- Fluent in English, Italian, and French
Jordan runs the deck with sailor’s precision and scientist’s curiosity, turning every tack and anchorage into a clean move and a quick window into the life under the keel if you want it. He keeps guests locked into the action, from trimming canvas in a regatta mood to just riding the rail and watching the sea talk.
- Background in marine biology
- Experience in ocean crossings and Mediterranean regattas
- Former sailing instructor at the Yacht Club of Antibes
Beata carries PURITAN’s history in her bones, moving through the rig and brightwork like someone who grew up in this timber and steel and wants you to feel that lineage under your feet. She threads guests into the story of the ship while keeping the deck operation tight, safe, and ready for real sail.
- Daughter of a former PURITAN captain
- Graduate of the Puritan Academy
- Progressed from junior deckhand to bosun aboard PURITAN
Oliver keeps the old‑world hull and modern systems humming in sync, so you get quiet cabins, reliable power, and no surprises when it’s time to fire up and move. Melissa brings straight-line energy to deck work, jumping from watches to lines to guest support so the trip feels alive but never messy. She’s wired for offshore miles and keeps the boat’s rhythm light, fast, and friendly whether you’re night sailing or just loading into the tender.
- Previous experience aboard 50m classic schooner Trinakria
- Skilled in offshore navigation and watchkeeping
- Experience in both deck operations and stewarding
Vera turns the galley into a tight, focused kitchen, pushing out precise plates that track the day’s tempo—raw and bright after a swim, slow and rich when the sun drops. She builds meals that feel like destinations, not just fuel, and she does it in a moving, vintage hull without blinking.
- Over 10 years’ experience as chef on classic yachts including Alejandra and Orianda
- Specialties include tuna tartare, homemade tagliatelle, and fresh-baked bread
- Has organized sushi dinners for up to 80 guests
- Fluent in Italian, English, and Russian
