Infected by travel fever, he chose to start a career in professional yachting when he was only 19, working on both sailing and motor yachts. He had always been intrigued with being able to work in the engine room as he sees it as the “heart of the ship”, and therefore passed his studies in the Maritime Academy as Engineer Officer. Being a team player, hard-working and easily integrated into the crew, he found himself to be a good fit onboard big yachts, and decided to pursue a career in yachting a few years ago. Whilst taking full charge of the engineering systems onboard throughout the day to ensure all the systems are working well, Roberto also enjoys being outside and you will see him on the swimming platform helping out with toys, tender runs, and maneuvering- unusual for an Engineer but helping our deck team to perform at its best!
