THIS IS IT Review: The 43m Tecnomar Catamaran Where Nothing Is Symmetrical, Walked Twice

by Klara Braga Jakobsen, Yacht Reviewer at DMA Yachting

I walked THIS IS IT at the MYBA Charter Show on 28 April 2026, a year after my first walkthrough of her at the Sanremo Yacht Show in May 2025. The photos are mine, from the second visit.

THIS IS IT is a 43.5-metre Tecnomar motor catamaran from 2024, the largest motor catamaran available for charter, and the one yacht I have walked twice, at two different shows, because the first time I did not believe my own notes. Nothing on her is symmetrical. Not the hulls, not the saloon, not the day head. The second visit confirmed what I thought the first time: this is not styling laid over a normal boat, it is a different way of arranging a yacht, and it works better in person than it does in the brochure photos.

This review is about what that asymmetry does for a week in Greece, where the two rooms that justify the rate are, and who should not book her.

THIS IS IT in numbers

  • Length and beam: 43.5 m (142 ft), beam 14.5 m. Aluminium motor catamaran by Tecnomar, The Italian Sea Group, delivered 2024.
  • Guests: 12 in 6 cabins: a full-beam master on the upper deck, two VIPs on the main deck, two doubles on the lower deck, and a sixth cabin that converts from a playroom.
  • Crew: 12, for 12 guests.
  • Glass: more than 600 square metres of it, which is why she reads as a glass building from the dock.
  • Speed: 15 knots cruising, 18 knots maximum, on the listing.
  • Rate: from 350,000 EUR per week in low season to 390,000 EUR in high season, plus expenses (APA, and VAT in Greece at 13%). With 12 aboard, that is about 29,000 to 32,500 EUR per person for the week before expenses.
  • Toys: a Technohull Alpha 50 chase boat, two jet skis, two Seabob F5S, an e-foil, wakeboards, towables, paddleboards, kayaks and a sea pool.
  • Cruising: the whole Mediterranean. In Greece she is listed for Athens, the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, Corfu, Lefkas, Crete, Skiathos and Rhodes.

What the asymmetry does when you walk through her

The word sounds like a design-magazine idea until you are standing in it. On a normal yacht you can predict the next room: the saloon is centred, the dining table sits behind it, the stairs go down in the middle. On THIS IS IT the aft deck lounge curls under a sculpted overhang on one side and opens on the other, the bar is a curve with a ring chandelier above it, and the dining table sits under a circular recess in the ceiling that is not aligned with anything else. The floor runs through as one surface from the saloon to the deck, so you stop noticing where inside ends.

I asked myself on the first visit whether this was clever or just different. On the second visit the answer was clearer: the rooms are shaped around what you do in them, not around the centreline. The bar faces the people arriving. The dining table has the view. The lounge is in the shade. The designers, Mattia Piro and Gian Marco Campanino at The Italian Sea Group, built her for an owner who asked for something completely new, and that brief shows in every doorway.

Three rooms that are not where you expect them, April 2026: the aft deck lounge under the overhang, the curved saloon bar beneath the ring chandelier, and the dining table under its circular ceiling recess.

The master cabin: a skylight over the bed and a glass wall onto a private balcony

This is the room I would show first to anyone pricing her. The master takes the upper deck. The bed is a sculpted white shell on a dark base, and above it is a skylight long enough that you see sky from the pillow. The forward wall is glass and it folds open onto a private balcony over the aft deck, so the owner’s couple can sit outside in the morning with the jacuzzi and the lounge below them and the anchorage beyond. On a show day in April the light in there was the best on any yacht I walked.

Behind the bed, a mirrored walk-in wardrobe corridor leads to the bathroom in grey marble with a glass shower. Ceiling height in the master is 3.3 metres, which is a figure you feel rather than measure: nothing in the cabin is low. The listing calls the bed 200 by 200 cm.

The sundeck cinema and the lift from the galley

The second room that justifies the rate is the sundeck. It is a full deck of sunpads and loungers running forward from the glass wheelhouse to the mast, and it is set up for movie nights: a big screen, a long couch, and a lift that brings snacks and drinks straight up from the galley below without a stewardess carrying a tray up two flights. That last detail is the one I keep mentioning to brokers, because it is the kind of thing an owner only adds after living aboard. The aft jacuzzi sits below the master balcony, and the pool between the two stern staircases is at the water.

Inside: the saloon lounges and a wheelhouse that looks like a film set

The main saloon is one connected space: bar, dining, and a lounge with a long suede corner sofa and a wall screen. A smaller TV lounge with a daybed and a games console sits apart from it, which matters with 12 guests because it gives teenagers, or anyone who wants a film while the others are at dinner, a room of their own. The palette is champagne, platinum grey, leather and suede, with metallic ceilings that are lit from behind. The wheelhouse is glass on three sides with a sculpted helm and floating screens; my note from the first visit said Star Trek, and the second visit did not change it.

Guest cabins: two VIPs with real ceiling height and two doubles at the windows

The two VIP cabins are on the main deck, with the high ceilings that come from being up there, a bed of 205 by 170 cm, a desk, and an en suite in the same grey marble as the master. The two lower-deck doubles have the bed set against a full-width hull window, so they feel like main-deck cabins when the blinds are up. The sixth cabin is listed as a playroom that converts to a guest cabin with a 200 by 172 cm bed. It is the one to use for children or a nanny rather than for a couple paying a full share.

The spa: a massage bed and a glass sauna with a window

The spa is on the upper deck, next to the master, with a massage bed and a glass-walled sauna, and it has a window, which most yacht saunas do not. There is a sensory shower beside it. I did not have a treatment; what I can say is that the room is a real room, not a converted cabin, and it is close enough to the master that the owner’s couple will use it.

Who THIS IS IT is for, and who should not book her

She is for a group of up to 12 who want the most unusual boat in the anchorage and will use the spaces that make her unusual: the master balcony, the sundeck cinema, the bar. Couples travelling with one or two other couples, where the owner’s couple takes the master and the VIPs are genuinely good second cabins. Families with older children who will claim the TV lounge. Anyone who has chartered a conventional 45-metre motor yacht and wants the next one to feel different.

Four honest limits. First, the rate: 350,000 to 390,000 EUR a week before expenses puts her among the most expensive 12-guest yachts in Greece, and the per-head figure only makes sense if you fill her. Second, taste: there is no traditional joinery, no symmetry and no classic anything, so if your group wants a familiar yacht interior, this is not it. Third, the beam: at 14.5 metres she is wider than most berths are planned for, so ask the broker which harbours can take her alongside and expect more nights at anchor, which in Greece is not a hardship. Fourth, the sixth cabin is a converted playroom, so count her as five full cabins plus one for children.

Booking THIS IS IT for Greece: rate, VAT, base and what to ask

The published rate is 350,000 EUR per week in low season and 390,000 EUR in high season, plus expenses. In Greece that means the Advance Provisioning Allowance for fuel, food, drink and port fees on top, and charter VAT at 13%. She is listed for the whole Mediterranean, so a Greek week can start from Athens for the Cyclades or from Corfu or Lefkas for the Ionian, and a one-way is a conversation with the broker rather than a fixed menu. Ask three things before you sign: which ports she can berth in on your route, whether the playroom will be set as a cabin for your dates, and the sundeck cinema setup, because the screen and the galley lift are the two reasons to pay for the top deck.

Her chase boat is a Technohull Alpha 50, which is a serious boat in its own right and means the toys and the beach trips happen without the mother ship moving.

We have not placed a charter on THIS IS IT yet; this review is written from two walkthroughs and the published listing. Her page on this site is coming. Until then, she appears in our guide to the high-tech yachts changing Greek charters and in five Greek superyachts designed like floating beach clubs, and your broker can confirm dates and the current rate.
