Large Groups (12-20 guests) Charters
Large Groups Luxury Charter Greece
Are you looking for a private yacht charter in Greece for a large group? Browse our selection of specialized large-group yacht charters that can accommodate up to 40+ guests.
Be aware that Greece has legal capacity limitations on yacht charters, and it can, therefore, be difficult to find good options for a private yacht charter in the Greek islands. Talk to one of our yacht charter experts who can help you find the most suitable charter yachts for your group size.
Why is it so Hard to Find Luxury Charters for more than 12 Guests in Greece?
In your search for a charter yacht for a large group, you might have noticed that it is not easy to find a luxury yacht charter in Greece that allows more than 12 guests.
Why? The answer lies in the stringent EU regulations, which effectively are making it close to impossible to have more than 12 people onboard yacht charters in Greece.
The stipulations basically require safety boats with Titanic parameters and additional requirements that private boat owners are not willing to fulfill.
You’re either looking for a small cruise ship or for one of the very few crewed yacht charters that fulfill the bureaucratic necessities for a commercial license to host more than 12 guests for a yacht charter in Greek island clusters.
Even a large superyacht charter with 20+ cabins with double beds will not be able to take on more than 12 clients for a private yacht charter in Greece unless they agree to comply with strict parameters for yachts at sea, matching cross-Atlantic travel in terms of safety equipment.
Of course, very few private owners want to replace their jetskis with parametric safety boats and prefer to charter smaller groups.
Other reasons are also quite prosaic – yacht charter owners are not interested in huge parties and issues connected to them – but will consider private offers for vetted charterers, ideally with past charter experience and recommendations
(yes, having an owner recommend you as a charterer is a great asset – owners love to hear their prized assets are in good hands).

Croatia
Check out options for Large Group Charters in Croatia
Unlike many charter destinations in the Mediterranean, the Croatian coast doesn’t have any limitations on guest numbers – the regular size of charter guests consists of 15-20 people but can stretch to 50+ guests as well.
In recent years, we have seen a significant increase in larger charter yachts in Croatia, including motor yachts, catamarans, and sailing yachts. This has created great options for large groups to share a luxurious charter vacation without having to be crammed together on a tiny vessel.
Turkey
Check out options for Large Group Charters in Turkey
Just like Croatia, Turkey is one of the few destinations in the Med that permits charters for groups of over 12 people.
This makes it a prime choice for large groups such as event charters, corporate charters, and big family gatherings, who struggle to find options in other destinations without having to pay the price of a cruise ship.

There are so many places to go on a Greek sailing vacation, with the endless beautiful Greek Islands, that it can seem overwhelming to plan a sailing itinerary.
The most popular areas for private yacht charters in the Aegean Sea are the Cyclades Islands and the Saronic Islands, which are reachable from Athens, which has the biggest charter fleet. However, more people are choosing to charter in the Ionian Islands to escape the crowds and strong winds (common in the Aegean Sea).
The question is whether you want to follow the hype and visit all the most talked-about destinations or whether you are seeking a yacht charter in Greece off the beaten track.
-There are loads of secluded islands not overrun by tourists waiting for people to break the trend. They all have turquoise waters and ancient ruins.

Very professional, communicated clearly and planned an amazing trip for us. Louis Lamprell did an amazing job connecting us with the unbridled yacht and crew. It was a trip of a lifetime. Our family highly recommends both DMA yachting and the unbridled charter. Everything was perfection!

Louis was great from beginning to end and walked me through the whole process. He helped me find a great boat that fit within our time and cost preferences. He explained the differences between the different builds and the pros and cons. Once we selected the boat, he explained and walked me through the whole booking process and answered all my questions. Finally, he checked in with me before, during, and after the charter to make sure everything met our expectations. I can’t recommend Louis enough if you are planning a charter, and I will definitely be in touch for our next trip!
