The anchorages on Kimolos:
Location
The Semina Creek is a fjord-like bay in Kimolos and can be an excellent romantic getaway. Located less than two kilometres north of Psathi, Semina is a comparatively darker area due to the lack of natural light. Therefore, it is recommended that you visit Semina only in the daytime.
The high cliffs surrounding the bay provide a good view. The anchorage is mostly preferred by solo travelers.
Mooring at Semina
You can reach the anchorage via Psathi or directly from Poliagos or Folegandros. Moor anywhere on the bay, with a recommended anchor of four to six meters. You may use a mole that trawlers use but don’t depend on it entirely. Daytime sailing is recommended. However, it may be partly submerged in the water sometimes.
Night-time sailing should be with caution. It can be dangerous for both navigating and mooring, especially with the rocky seabed. Plus, there is no shelter from the meltemi.
Provisioning and Services
There is no provisioning or resting area in Semina Creek. You can anchor your yacht in the bay but alighting is not recommended.
