1. PROJECT STEEL | 112 ft BUGARI
This motor yacht has amazing fuel efficiency and is perfect for longer charters!
M/Y Project Steel was built by Italian shipbuilder Bugari in 1993. It has since undergone an extensive refit of both interior and exterior in 2020, including an extension of the stern and shortening of the bow to make for a more modern look.
Project Steel features 5 cabins accommodating 12 guests and is manned by a long-standing crew of 6.
Why I like this yacht
I think this is a really ideal boat for an intermediate – someone who is getting used to yachting and wants a decent-sized boat for a very good price. Project Steel goes for a prize of only €60,000 in the high season and €49,000 in the low season, and is subject to as little as 6.5% VAT.
What is very interesting about this yacht is its incredibly low fuel cost – it only takes 130 Liters per hour, whereas yachts this size normally would take about 5-700 Liters. This makes Project Steel a really great choice for those wishing to do longer charters throughout the Cyclades, where a lot of motoring is to be expected.
We have chartered this yacht many times always with excellent client feedback.
Project Steel also offers a good collection of water toys including 1 Jet Ski, Sea Bob, Kneeboard, Wakeboard, Water Skis (adult and kids), Tubes, SUP, Kayak, Floating Mats, Fishing Gear, and Snorkel Gear.
★★★★★
“This is nothing short of phenomenal. Everything they do is always five-star, in service, professionalism, and attention to detail. Greece is now our favorite holiday location thanks to Project Steel, Captain, and his lovely, lovely crew. From now on a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step onto Project Steel! Best of luck for the rest of the season from a very grateful family!!”
2. GOLDEN YACHT | 105 ft SAN LORENZO
This motor yacht is a total eye-catcher and is great for young people who want a fun and good-looking yacht!
M/Y Golden Yacht was built by the Italian shipbuilder San Lorenzo in 2014 and underwent a full refit in 2024. Characterized by expansive windows that flood the interior with natural light, the yacht offers a striking 360-degree panoramic view from the saloon. She has 5 cabins, comfortably accommodating 10 guests and is manned by a crew of 6.
The yacht’s sundeck, partially sheltered by a hardtop, provides great space for relaxation and entertainment, featuring a dining area, sunbathing amenities, and a Jacuzzi. Notably, a fold-down balcony extends the outdoor living space, while a swimming platform off the stern enhances water access and enjoyment.
Why I like this yacht
In my opinion, this is the ideal yacht for younger charter guests who wish to get from A to B quickly. On top of that,t she is a total eye-catcher with a modern and elegant design. Her interior is thoroughly designed with great attention to detail, – it is very light and fashionable, with lots of art on the walls.
Golden Yacht‘s water toy selection includes 1 Jet Ski, a wakeboard, water skis for adults, a paddleboard, kayaks, snorkeling gear, and an inflatable swim platform in addition to the platform on the yacht.
❛A Motor Yacht Charter is for those who want ultimate speed, freedom, and luxury on their charter Vacation in Greece. I often talk to clients who look at Catamarans or Sailing Yachts along with an itinerary that simply isn’t realistic for this type of yacht within their selected timeframe. Therefore, we consistently emphasize the advantages of choosing a Motor Yacht, particularly for those desiring longer charters and swift transportation between destinations. On top of that, a Motor Yacht charter also offers much more in terms of luxurious amenities (such as a gym, jacuzzi, sauna, cinema, bar, etc.) and generally store a significantly larger selection of water toys.

3. SUMMER FUN | 101 ft ADMIRAL
With ‘Summer Fun’ you get a big yacht for a small price. This yacht is great for extensive itineraries!
M/Y Summer Fun was built by the Italian Shipbuilder Admiral in 2001 and underwent an extensive refit in 2021, fitting a brand-new interior in a modern design in an earthy palette of beige, cream, and brown.
Accommodating up to 12 guests across 6 cabins, including a master suite, a VIP suite convertible to a playroom, and four twin cabins convertible to doubles, Summer Fun can conveniently be adjusted to fit different types of charter groups. Stabilizers for use underway and on-anchor guarantee smooth cruising.
Why I like this yacht
I usually recommend Summer Fun for a busy itinerary with a focus on packing a lot of action into the itinerary and moving swiftly between locations. Summer Fun has two big engines, – note the engine is a bit hungrier compared to Project Steel, nevertheless, the maximum speed is 29 knots compared with the 13.5 knots of Project Steel. This is a great choice for groups that are less about cruising and more about actually seeing the islands.
Another big draw of this yacht is its very competitive price. You can charter Summer Fun for only €65,000 during high season, €55,000 during mid-season, and €45,000 during low season. This is an exceptional price for a 101-foot boat, just compare it with the other yachts on this list.
Summer Fun offers a wide array of water toys such as a jet ski, water skis for adults and children, snorkeling gear, noodles, SUP, a sea bob and jet surf, flyboard, and a canoe for making the most of your time in the water.
★★★★★
“Here we are, pulling up to Piraeus after 7 amazing days on Summer Fun. Time never went so fast, so enjoy every minute. All treated us to something truly unique – a cruise in the Greek islands. Crew ensured that our every need was taken care of – from the infamous stewardess to mussels ceviche + lamb!! Kleftiko the most memorable stop! We danced, we sang, we swam, we ate + we drank! Most of all we had the best time enjoying each other’s company.”

6. ENDLESS SUMMER | 130 ft WESTPORT
This motor yacht has 6 cabins, making her perfect for large groups + she has a massive water toy selection!
This fantastic 134 ft Westport is a bit of a rarity in the Mediterranean. Westports are built in Washington and are popular boats in the Caribbean area, Bahamas, and Miami, but not many have made the jump across the Atlantic to the Med.
M/Y Endless Summer was built in 2004 and has since undergone several refits in 2016, 2017, and most recently in 2021, ensuring its continual modernization and upkeep. Its interior is brand-new and of a light and modern design.

Why I like this yacht
I really love this yacht and have personally booked her 3 times last year, as well as 3 times this year. One of the reasons I like her so much is her accommodation capacity, which makes her the perfect yacht for big group charters. She also comes with a huge selection of water toys as well as a waterslide and a 10-seater Jacuzzi!!
- 1 sea Doo Spark (2-seater)
- 1 Seabob F5
- 2 Yamaha 1200cc Wave Runner (3-seaters)
- 1 Standup Paddleboard
- 2 CanoeS
- 2 Sets of Water-skis
- 2 Wakeboards

This high-class 164-foot (50-meter) Motor Yacht Barents was built by the renowned Italian superyacht builder Benetti in 1999 and has since undergone several refits, with frequent upgrades between 2021-2023.

In addition to its exceptional qualities as a yacht, M/Y Barents offers a distinct advantage in terms of value proposition. Thanks to its advantageous registration, the yacht benefits from a low VAT rate of 5.2%. This significantly impacts the overall cost of chartering, allowing guests to allocate more of their budget towards indulging in luxury and fun during their voyage.

With 6 cabins accommodating 12 guests and a crew of 15, Galaxy offers generous space and a high standard of service.
Why I like this yacht
What sets this yacht apart is its generous interior volume, providing significantly more living space than most yachts of this size. It also comes equipped with a wide range of water toys, including 2 jet skis, 2 electric flyboards, a jet pack, kiting equipment, and a top-deck jacuzzi.
Inside, the décor follows a darker classic style. The master cabin is conveniently situated on the main deck alongside the living room and flybridge offering excellent accessibility. Additional amenities include an elevator and an in-house gym. This is a great yacht for larger groups and guests looking for ultimate luxury.

How to Select Your Yacht Charter in Greece?
The first thing is to consider your group size, budget, preferred yacht type, itinerary, and dates.
Your Group & Budget
The first step in planning your yacht charter in Greece is to consider your group size and estimated budget. Having a rough idea of who will be joining and your financial parameters will help narrow down your search effectively. Keep in mind not only the size but also the composition of your group. For instance, multiple couples may prefer equal-sized cabins with double beds, while families with children might prioritize twin cabins.
Each yacht offers a different cabin layout tailored to different guest needs. It’s beneficial to be in touch with your Charter Broker early in the planning process, as they possess the expertise to identify suitable options and guide you through selecting the perfect charter yacht.
Yacht Type
Once you know who is going, approximately how much money you have to play with, and have a rough idea of where you want to go, it is time to look into what type of yacht you wish to charter. It is important to pick a yacht, not only to suit your onboard needs but also to match your desired itinerary.
The distances between the Greek islands can be significant. For instance, the journey from Athens to Santorini spans approximately 150 miles. On a motor yacht traveling at a speed of 12 knots, typical day trips between islands last around 3-4 hours. However, for catamarans traveling at a slower pace of around 6 knots, day trips can extend to at least 4-6 hours.
In addition to considering travel distances, it’s crucial to think about what you desire in terms of onboard living. Your yacht will after all serve as your home for the entire duration of your charter and will be the epicenter of your unforgettable adventure.
Destination & Itinerary
When selecting a destination and crafting an itinerary for your yacht charter in Greece, it’s essential to take into account weather conditions. Prevailing winds during the season can impact sailing routes, sea comfort, travel times between destinations, and may even necessitate itinerary adjustments. Maintaining flexibility in your plans is advisable to accommodate potential weather-related changes.
Choosing an itinerary in a region of Greece with less windy conditions and opting for routes with closer island proximity can help mitigate the impact of adverse weather. This is especially good advice for those who suffer from seasickness, mind you most motor yachts come equipped with stabilizers in use both underway and on anchor.
Rest assured, you’ll have the opportunity to communicate with the Captain before your charter vacation begins, allowing for the creation of a tailored itinerary that aligns with your preferences and accounts for weather considerations.

Best Yacht Charter Areas in Greece
The Greek Islands offer some of the most stunning motor yacht destinations, perfect for both first-time and seasoned charterers.
While many motor yachts are based in Athens/Piraeus, you can also find charters in marinas across Greece, including Thessaloniki, Chalkidiki, Skiathos, Volos, Mykonos, Corfu, and Rhodes.
The Cyclades are a must-visit, though the distances between islands can be quite large. For example, it’s about 150 miles from Athens to Santorini. To avoid long sea journeys, consider starting your charter in the Cyclades, such as from Mykonos or Santorini, especially since weather conditions, like the Meltemi winds, can impact travel plans.
Gathering information directly from charter captains, we have compiled this list of the Top 10 Best Yacht Charter Destinations in the Cyclades.
For those looking to minimize travel time at sea, the Saronic Gulf is ideal. Islands like Hydra, Spetses, and Poros are closer together, making for shorter, more enjoyable hops between destinations. This area is perfect for first-time charterers.
Although Cyclades gets all the hype, the Saronic Gulf is on the preferred charter area of most Captains we have talked to. Why? One reason is the islands are closer together, meaning less chance of a disrupted itinerary when the Meltemi winds blow strong. Captains recommend these Top 5 Saronic Islands.
The Ionian Islands, including Corfu, are growing in popularity due to their calm winds and closer island proximities, which make for easy island hopping. Starting from Athens and cruising through the Corinth Canal to the Ionian Sea offers a unique and spectacular experience. This region is becoming increasingly popular as more infrastructure is built to accommodate larger yachts.

The Dodecanese Islands are another excellent destination, offering a mix of vibrant culture and historical sites. Islands like Rhodes provide a unique blend of ancient ruins and modern amenities. The Dodecanese are less crowded than some other Greek destinations, allowing for a more relaxed and intimate yachting experience.

Pick a Newer Motor Yacht and Save $$ with Better Fuel Efficiency
It is no secret that, compared to sailing yachts, motor yachts consume a large amount of fuel and generally entail significantly higher charter costs. This might be a pivotal consideration for those planning a charter in Greece on a budget.
But, for those set on a motor yacht, it is worth looking at newer motor yachts rather than older models. Although an older motor yacht might have a cheaper initial cost, the better fuel efficiency of a newer engine will save you money in the long run.
Don’t Set Your Budget Too Low
We have seen a significant increase in size among top-tier motor yachts in recent years allowing for the accommodation of larger groups of guests, along with the inclusion of amenities and luxuries previously uncommon, such as generous water toy collections, open-air Jacuzzis, and much more.
Spending a little more on a motor yacht can get you a lot more for your $$!
Understand the real cost of a yacht charter to ensure you have the right expectations.
Book Early to Secure Your Preferred Yacht
Make sure to book your Greek yacht charter well in advance. Ideally, you would inquire about your coming charter 12 months in advance.
WHY? The best charter yachts are often fully booked long in advance and it’s not unusual to see popular dates booked 2 summers ahead for a Greece yacht charter. Inquiring less than 6 months ahead often means that your first choice is unavailable for charter.
