⚲ Nafplion, Greece
🗓️ 3 – 7 May 2025
The 2025 Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) in Nafplion once again proved why it’s one of the most anticipated events in the superyacht calendar. With more yachts than ever, world-class hospitality, and an unforgettable atmosphere, our team was on the ground—14 strong—to deliver full coverage, insider rankings, and future charter insights.
More Superyachts than Ever Before
We’ve been attending MEDYS for many years, and it’s been incredible to witness its evolution. There was a time when a 100-foot yacht turned heads. This year? Several yachts measured well over 200 feet in length. At this scale, we’re talking helipads, large beach clubs, fully equipped gyms, spa rooms, Michelin-level cuisine, and a crew that outnumbers the guest count.
One of our team’s all-time favorites was ARTISAN, a 213-foot Benetti with five decks, five fold-down balconies, and an 8-seater jacuzzi. She is one of the top options for a Greece superyacht charter.
The port in Nafplion was packed with over 100 yachts of all kinds—from family-friendly catamarans and classic motor yachts to superyachts that feel more like floating beach resorts. The growth in scale reflects the increasing demand for luxury motor yacht charters in Greece, and the industry is keeping up.
Our 14 Team Members Toured and Reviewed 90+ Yachts This Year
We don’t just walk the docks—we do a thorough inspection of every yacht and its crew. This year, our largest-ever team (14 members strong) carried out full tours, food tastings, crew interviews, and real-time reviews shared across our internal platforms. Walk-through videos were filmed daily and will be shared with our clients to help them get a true feel for each vessel.
“This is how we turn a yacht show into an encyclopedia of charter knowledge,” said Mo Pristas, our chief of marketing.
A Surprise Drone Show lit up MEDYS Opening Night at the Fortress
MEDYS isn’t just about luxury hardware—it’s about showcasing Greek hospitality in action. Starting with the traditional opening Ceremony held at the Palamidi Fortress at the top of the hill, overlooking the yachts in the port. This year, the setting was made even more dramatic by a surprise drone show that lit up the sky above the yachts.
But our favorite is always the classic Yacht Hop, where each crew has a chance to shine. From elaborate décor to themed menus and signature cocktails, it is a masterclass in what makes a charter feel special.
“This is a great way to see the crew in action, hosting many guests and getting creative with the decorations,” says Nadja Asmus, one of our top superyacht brokers.
Meeting the Crew at MEDYS Reveal the Real X-Factor
You can have the most perfect yacht in the harbor and a five-star chef on board, but without a great crew, it’s just a show. The truth is, the crew makes or breaks a charter.
“When you read the client feedback, it’s 10 percent about the amazing yacht and the amenities and the stunning locations—and 90 percent about how amazing the crew was,” says Daniel Asmus, one of our senior brokers. “A strong crew/client match is one of the key ingredients of a successful charter.”
That’s why we take our time at MEDYS to properly connect with the crew—many of whom we’ve met at previous shows, and some we’re meeting for the first time. We talk with the stews, the engineers, the deckhands, the captains, the chefs—because they’re the ones who shape the experience and the ones who truly know the Greek waters.
Many of the captains we spoke to this year have been sailing the Greek islands for decades. Their knowledge is deep, lived-in, and incredibly valuable for building Greek yacht charter itineraries that go beyond the obvious. We’re constantly learning from them—listening to stories, hearing what worked on past charters, and taking note of those extra touches that turn a trip into a lifelong happy memory.
Our Team Tested Brunches, Lunches, and Dinners Onboard
Let’s not forget what truly seals the deal on a Greece yacht charter: the cuisine. We attended countless lunches, brunches, and dinners to experience the galley magic firsthand.
“This is one of the most important details of any kind of vacation, after all,” says Marcelle Hailwax, one of our brokers, who had the rare chance to dine aboard MILOS AT SEA—the floating version of the world-famous restaurant MILOS.
A Hundred Boat Horns Mark the End of MEDYS 2025
The five-day whirlwind that was MEDYS 2025 came to a sudden and theatrical halt at exactly 5:30 p.m. on May 7, 2025. As tradition goes, the show ends with a full-throttle horn salute that shakes the harbor.
I’m standing on the foredeck of motor yacht MOBIUS, right in front of the boat’s horn, and it is extremely loud. Around a hundred yachts join in, and the racket does not stop for a good 10 minutes. And out on the water, smoke flares are set off, sending plumes of orange smoke drifting across the bay.
And just like that, the 45th MEDYS has come to an end.
