On most modern charter yachts, yes. Newer boats run vacuum systems similar to an aircraft toilet, or a macerator that grinds waste before it leaves the bowl, and both handle ordinary toilet paper without any issue.
On older or smaller yachts, the plumbing is narrower and the crew may ask you to put paper in the bin instead. It is a two-minute briefing on day one, not a discomfort, and every yacht we book gets this explained before you cast off.
What is never fine to flush, on any system: wet wipes, feminine hygiene products, and thick double-ply paper. These are what actually block a holding tank, and the fix mid-charter is unpleasant for everyone aboard.
If it matters to you, ask us before booking. The system is in the yacht’s own specification, and we confirm it with the captain so there are no surprises.
