I visited Astoria at the Poros yacht show and the standout for me was easily the chef, Nikola Statev. He’s got serious experience—fine dining background in Bulgaria and Germany, river cruises, and now fully in his element onboard. Big passion for seafood and fresh local ingredients, and he’s the kind of chef who actually loves tailoring menus—whether that means vegan, keto, or food allergy adjustments.
The yacht itself has a crisp, clean feel with a cohesive design—red theme, sailing-themed art, and very put-together. The crew prefers the Saronic Gulf and enjoy taking guests to more low-key, local spots away from the crowds. Smooth 8-knot cruising, super comfortable.

Introduced by DMA Yachting, the breathtaking charter yacht ASTORIA is a 61.6 ft power catamaran. The main attractions of ASTORIA are her elegant profile and fantastic layout. ASTORIA spends the summer and winter season in Greece. She was completed by the famous yacht builder Fountaine Pajot in 2021. The ingenious yacht layout features 5 large cabins and easily accommodates a maximum of 10 guests.
ASTORIA is classified primarily as a power catamaran. The the heart of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is generous, with a prominent dining and seating area and that's where most of the meals are served. The modern cabins are located in the 2 massive hulls. The cabins are located below the main saloon, connected by stairs (inquire about handicapped access). Multiple portholes supply a sunny feeling, with the option for darkness and privacy.

Description: Nikola was born in 1993 and is from Varna, Bulgaria. He graduated from the
University of Economics with a specialty in Industrial Business in 2016. During
his schooling, he worked as a Junior Chef in a hotel in Varna, this is where his
culinary career took off. After years as a chef in 5* restaurants in both Bulgaria
and Germany, he took his skills to boats and began work on River Cruises.
With his love of travel and adventure, he was then led into the yachting world.
In joining the crew of Astoria, he is excited to be able to create menus and tailor
the dishes to his guests. He is passionate about seafood and using fresh, local
catches. His fabulous risottos and pasta will delight the palate. To him, cooking
is an art form and a way of expressing himself.
In his time off the yacht, Nikola loves being with his wife and daughter traveling
together and meeting new people. He enjoys playing darts and watching
football. Nikola is excited to welcome guests onboard Astoria and spoil them with
incredible creations!
